I liked Snow White and the Huntsman.

I liked all the characters in Snow White and the Huntsman

I didn’t like the director of Snow White and the Huntsman

For anyone who has ever been frustrated because they didn’t have evidence on hand of Michael Fassbender being an ASSHOLE

Here is a link to a short article about how in a recent movie Keira Knightly was tied to a bed for a spanking scene with him, something she had had enough reservations about that she almost didn’t do the movie, and she told him that she would be furious with him if he actually hit her, adn he said something about how she was tied to a bed and wasn’t in a position to be making demands hehehe! SO FUNNY!

That’s ok. Harry Potter has sold billions of books, made trillions at box office, made it possible for all fantasy series to exist, made child literacy cool, has not 1 but 2 theme parks, has an entire music genre, inspired an international sport, and changed the lives of millions.

LET JESUS HANG AND BUDDHA SIT: Let’s Talk About Body Hair

girl-guts:

I get a lot of questions about having body hair, especially in public. It’s one thing in the winter, I’m told, when we can hide our legs under pants and our pits under sleeves. It’s different now, when you want to wear tank-tops and short dresses! So here is my response…

I really like this because it points out that, shaving or not shaving, all that matters is that it’s your choice and that the choice be made according to your own preferences and identity and not as a concession to oppressive social norms. I have eczema in the form of seborrheic dermatitis in my armpits, and having hair there is really uncomfortable, sometimes even painful, for me. It doesn’t make me a bad feminist for shaving, it makes me a person that doesn’t want to deal with discomfort.

Right!!! It’s one thing to imply that a women solely exists to be a muse and to encourage and pander to men, but at least with most movies you have an implicit understanding that the woman does have her own job and her own WILL. This movie eradicates all of that, and the only reason she comes into being at all is to serve her male counterpart. Fucked. Up.
